Pressed But Not Crushed

Pressed But Not Crushed

2 Corinthians 4:8-10 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

This week’s DIVA’s Devotional theme is “What Champion’s are made of.”

We just saw Gabby Douglas win all around women’s gymnast for the United States. It was a true victory for our country and for African American’s alike.

In this scripture Paul reminds us of the pressures that life brings.  He explains how life can be extremely difficult and that all around us lay obstacles. When he says we are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed he is telling us that even though the pressures of life are trapping us to the right, to the left, at the top and below us we should keep our focus on the Lord.

For the Lord will not allow those struggles, the evil and the pressures to overtake us.  He encourages the believer to take a hold of that which allows you to stand.  He encourages the believer to take hold of the one whom when you can’t stand will prop you up and hold you up in the power of his might.

Champion’s are not made in the easy times of life…champion’s are made in the tough times of life because it’s in those times that struggles and pressures seem as though they are going to take over your mind and your sanity. Be encouraged….they may be pressing you but the won’t and can’t destroy you…if you are under the covering of the almighty God!

God Bless you, and remember to go as far as God is willing to take you!
