Fruit of the Spirit-Kindness

Kindness
Galatians 5:22-But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Against such things there is no law.

Kindness is an eagerness to put others at ease.  It is a sweet and attractive temperament.  It doesn't mean that you don't have boundaries, it doesn't mean that you have no common sense, it doesn't mean you allow people to step all over you in the name of kindness.  It does mean however that you are merciful, sweet and tender.

We must understand that for whom much is given, much is required Luke 12;48. We as Christians have received so much mercy and tenderness from God… so we should be able to give it back.

I make this distinction for  “the Christian”, because God so loved the world that he gave his son however, for those who do not receive Christ they are not under the covering of Christ.  We the Christians are under the covering of Christ but we act like we are not by the way we treat one another and by the way we treat people that we come in contact with.

We say we have the joy of the Lord in us, but it’s hard to see it at times.  You can always tell when somebody is dwelling in this particular spiritual fruit because you can pick him or her out in a crowd.  They are the one’s holding the door for a stranger, they are the one’s that look like they have something to be happy about, they are the one’s that reflect kindness in their walk and talk.

Ask yourself a question, can someone pick my spiritual fruit of kindness out in a crowd.  If the answer is a truthful yes, then continue to grow and express that, but if the truthful answer is no, then you need to work on it, for Proverbs 11: 16 and 17 says A kindhearted woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth. A kind man benefits himself, but  a cruel man brings trouble on himself.

God bless you and remember to go as far as God is willing to take you!
