Love
Galatians 5:22-But the Fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self-control. Against such things there
is no law.
Love
seeks the highest good for others; it is not based on emotions or feelings. I
heard someone say that love is an action word. It is not lip service. Jesus
tells us in John 15:9 “as the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now
remain in my love.”
The
Greek word for love is Agape, which means selfless, sacrificial and
unconditional love. It is the love that was given to us by God when he set in
motion the plan for salvation. It is the love that Christ showed us when his
passion was so great that he died for us. I'm not sure if as humans we can
truly have genuine Agape love for another human but I am sure that we should
strive for it.
God
desires us to love one another as ourselves and the only way to do that is to
strive for Agape love toward your fellow man. Love takes effort, sometimes more
effort than at others, but it is the will of the Father that we love especially
when he has loved us so greatly and deeply.
God
Bless you and remember to go as far as good is willing to take you!
