Goodness
Galatians 5:22-But the Fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self-control. Against such things there
is no law.
Goodness is the selfless desire to be open hearted and
generous to others above what they deserve. Titus 3:4-7 tells us “But when the
kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of
righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth
and renewal by the Holy Spirit, who he poured out on us generously through
Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might
become heirs having the hope of eternal life.”
The fact is all of the blessings that we have, cars, houses, job, money,
clothes, great relationships, wonderful children…it was given to us by the
goodness of God and the mercy of Jesus.
Goodness is being selfless and open hearted to others, above what they
deserve. Now that you can understand it intellectually
and have it make sense spiritually, let’s apply it in reality. The people you
deal with may not deserve it, but neither do you or I….yet we receive it daily
from our Lord and Savior. Choose today to play it forward…..give people, what
you have been given by Grace….Give them Goodnesss!
