The Holy Spirit is the
expression from God to us that reflects his generosity and his willingness to
help us. God gave us His willing Spirit to change us when our hearts are hardened
to the things of God. He gave us his free Spirit to grant us freedom in him
when the enemy desires to keep us in bondage. Its God’s free Spirit that
prompts us to accept him as our personal Lord and Savior and leads us to walk
in that freedom. If it was not for God and his Free Spirit we would not be free
from the prison of sin. Those of us that are in Christ Jesus don’t have to stay
in the prison of the mind, the body or the soul, but we can flourish and flow
in the freedom that has been granted to us through Gods initiative, Christ
sacrifice and the Holy Spirit’s leading. The challenge for us today is simply
to be grateful. The old folks would say
it like this” if it had not been for the Lord who was on my side, I don’t know
where I would be.” Today walk in gratefulness for your deliverance and rejoice
in his Spirit that set you free!!
Let’s pray, Father we
are so grateful to you for the things that you have done…its you that sent
Jesus, It’s Jesus who died and it’s the Holy Spirit that keeps us and guides us.
Lord help us today to remember your Spirit that frees us, that sets us free and
removes the bondage of the enemy. It’s in the matchless name of Jesus that we
pray…Amen!

The Spirit Of Adoption
The
Spirit Of Adoption
Romans 8:15 “The
Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again;
rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba,
Father.”
What a powerful scripture from the book of
Romans! We don't live in fear but we live in connection to. Not like the connection
we have on Face Book or Twitter where you have 752 friends and 3,000 followers
and you know about 10 of them personally…it is a connection that places us as
sons and daughters of the Most High God. The Spirit of adoption is the Spirit
that allows us to be children of God. God’s love toward us as his children
comes through the Holy Spirit. As the Spirit persuades us, we become part of
God’s family. The challenge for us is to accept that we are his children and
then behave in a way that reflects that we are his children. Sons of the King
and daughters of the King don't act like
commoners; they act like royalty because they are royalty. Reflect on who you
are? Reflect on how you behave. Do you act like children of the King or do you
act like a commoner? If you behave like a child of the King…good…. now show
someone else the way, but if you act like a commoner…check yourself, pray, fast
(if you need to) and allow God to transform you from a commoner to a child of
the King.
Let’s pray, Father we are so grateful that we are
children of the King, we are so grateful that by your grace we are saved. Help
us today to walk not as commoners but help us today to walk as royalty. We love
you for what you’ve did for us and now we ask that you help us to live in such
a way as to reflect how much we love you, in the way we walk and in the way we
talk. To your name be the glory, honor and praise. In Jesus name we do pray…Amen!

Names Of The Holy Spirit-Might
The
Spirit of Might
The
Spirit of the LORD will rest on him--the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of
the LORD
The Holy Spirit is the
Spirit of Might. It’s his Spirit that gives us the power to overcome. Think
about that for a moment, when you have made it through something that was very
hard and difficult and you didn’t completely loose it and everybody around you
said, they would have lost it….it is because of God’s Spirit of Might that you where
able to overcome. Sometimes we overlook it because we are conditioned in our
world to think that it is our own might but we must (as Christians) recognize
it is the might that God has planted in us. It’s the might that we get because
we are his children. The challenge for
the Christian is to use the Spirit of Might instead of reaching for something
else. We may try to reach for our wit, our knowledge, or humor but God want’s
us to reach for His Spirit of Might.
The fact is nothing
else will do. When we reach for humor,
we laugh and people think we are strong but when we leave their presence we
leave with our head down in the same condition we were in prior to talking with
them….why because we have used something artificial to appear we are okay. Humor is fine but the power of God’s might
should be used 1st to heal, strengthen, redirect or whatever we
need, then humor. God gave us his might….but a gift means nothing if you are
not willing to use it when you need it.
Tap into the power of God’s Might and let God rest, rule and reign.
Let’s pray, Father God
you are such a good God, you have always been just what I need. Today, I want to tap into the Spirit of
Might. When my boss says something to me
that I don’t like, when my children won’t obey, when my husband doesn’t
understand…. help me to tap into your Spirit of Might not to bulldog anybody
but to handle the situation Godly, controlled and with power that I recognize
only comes from you. To your name be the glory…..Amen!

Names of the Holy Spirit-The Good Spirit
Nehemiah 9:20 “You gave your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not
withhold your manna from their mouths, and you gave them water for their
thirst.”
God’s Good Spirit will lead
and teach us in all that is good. The
Holy Spirit is the believer’s gift in the present. Psalm 143:10 tells us “Teach me to do your will for you are my God;
may
your Good Spirit lead me on level ground.”
It is this Spirit that works things for our good. It is in the lonely times,
the times of despair, the times of doubt and the times of regret that we should
tap into God’s Good Spirit to lead us and comfort us and to allow that which
seems to be hopeless into something that is hopeful. The book of Hebrews
declares all things are possible with God, not with man but with God. The
challenge for us today is to not
wrap our minds around where we are in the present while allowing despair and
discouragement to set in and produce immobility but in these times allow God’s
Spirit of Good to abound so much in us that we see what is before us but our faith
in his Good Spirit pushes us above what we see to what we know and transforms
us from immobility to mobility. It’s only in the times of mobility that we can
do the will of God and do it with an “I can do attitude”, better yet not an I
can do attitude but a “I must” and “I will” do attitude. It’s God’s Good Spirit that empowers us to
not just exist in him but to strive then thrive in him. In order to strive then
thrive in him and not just exist in him we must tap into his Good Spirit!
Let’s
pray-Father in the name of Jesus this morning we pray that we remember your
Spirit of Good as we go through our day.
God some things will happen today that we don’t like but it’s your
Spirit of Good that will work even that together for the good, help us today
God to tap into your Spirit no matter what we go through in life today, no
matter what we experience today bless us to remember you Good Spirit and help
us to be grateful for it, In Jesus name we pray, Amen!
