The BreastPlate Of Righteousness

The Breastplate

Ephesians 6:10-18
Be Strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the Full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

Ephesians 6:14- With the breastplate of righteousness in place.

The breastplate of righteousness was there to protect the soldier from death. If you didn’t protect yourself by putting on the breastplate and your enemy shot an arrow your way, you would more than likely die. The breastplate was vitally important. When we apply this to life today we see the importance of putting on the breast plate of Righteousness because it protects us from the arrow hitting our heart and not necessarily killing us physically but killing us spiritually and emotionally. You ever see somebody who is just down.  They are not down one day, but they are down for 2, 3 years and sometimes forever.  You never see them happy, they always look miserable. I’m willing to bet that somewhere in their life they allowed the enemy to penetrate their heart and they have never been the same.  Putting on the breastplate protects the heart…it doesn’t mean that we don’t feel hurt but it does mean that it doesn’t’ kill us.  The breastplate also represents faith. When you put on that breastplate you have faith that it will protect you from death.  When we put on our breastplate we have faith that we will be protected from the enemy. We have to put it on and have faith that God will do what he said he would do.  The challenge for us today is to put on the breastplate and then have enough faith to believe that God can and will protect our vital part…. our hearts!

Let’s pray…. Father God we ask in Jesus name that you protect us from the arrows of the enemy.  We know that he want’s to steal, kill and destroy us, but in Jesus name we claim the victory over all of his tricks and traps, we declare we are protected by the all mighty God who loves us, and made himself nothing so we would have life and have that life more abundantly…. it’s in your son Jesus name that we pray…Amen!

Have a great day…and don’t be too busy to put on your breastplate of Righteousness.
